Daytona Beach Police Explorer's Program, Post #22
Mission Statement
The Daytona Beach Police Explorer Program aims to prepare young people for future leadership roles in the community and to help them develop careers in the law enforcement profession. It also promotes personal growth, character development; and encourages participants to lead by example as positive role models in their community.

Who Are We?
The Police Explorer program was founded in 1973 by the Boy Scouts of America. It is designed to educate and train young people interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. Participants in the program receive training in various aspects of law enforcement, including crowd control, traffic stops, situational awareness, community service events, and ride-alongs with officers on patrol.
The program aims to develop skills and awareness related to the criminal justice system through hands-on training. We are the future leaders of the law enforcement profession.
Responsibility:
Training:
Police Explorers can attend training academies, conferences, and leadership academies. They will learn about laws, arrest and control, physical fitness, and training scenarios.
Community Policing:
Police Explorers participate in projects such as child fingerprinting, law enforcement seminars, and crime prevention programs. They also help with traffic and crowd control.
Requirements:
Age:
Range between 14 and 21 years old
Education:
Enrolled in high school or college, or have a high school diploma or GED
GPA:
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
Character:
Be of good moral character and have no criminal history
Parental approval:
If you are under 18, you need your parent or guardian to sign your application or provide other forms of parental approval.
You need to attend three meetings before becoming a Police Explorer.
