Learn about the city's Code Enforcement process at July 20 CodeStat meeting

Residents are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss code enforcement issues with staff at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 20 at the Midtown Cultural and Educational Center located at 925 George W. Engram Blvd. Known as CodeStat, the meeting will introduce residents to the city’s code enforcement process and review recent violations.

Youth Beach Safety Camp July 26 to 30

Youth invited to participate in Beach Safety Camp

Youth can learn how to swim and surf at a free Beach Safety Camp planned for July 26-30. Open to youth ages 12-15, the camp will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at the Cypress Aquatic Center and includes hands-on activities at the beach and the city’s Oceanfront Breakers Park. Transportation to the beach will be provided for camp participants, which is limited to 12 kids. To register, stop by the Cypress Aquatic Center located at 981 George W. Engram Blvd. in Daytona Beach.

Friday evening music, fun and food trucks in Downtown Daytona Beach

Head to Downtown Daytona Beach Friday, July 23, from 5 to 9 p.m., for a night of music, fun and food trucks on Magnolia Avenue between Beach Street and Palmetto Avenue. Food trucks offering a variety of delicious options will line Magnolia Avenue as guests enjoy live music. Participating food trucks include Bells Kitchen and Smokehouse, Betty's Boy, Dancing Empanada, Grateful Cow, Jersey Family Grill, Lee's Famous Cheesesteaks, Ritter’s Frozen Custard, Shish and The Big Cheese. Visitors to the area can also enjoy the many restaurants and shops along Beach Street. There is plenty of free parking behind the Riverfront Shops on Beach Street.

The Downtown Daytona Nights Food Truck Rally is sponsored by Downtown Development Authority and Riverfront Shops of Daytona Beach. 

Police Department hosts back-to-school supply drive

DBPD collecting school supplies for distribution to Daytona Beach kids

The Daytona Beach Police Department is collecting items for its annual Back-to-School Supply Drive. Between now and Friday, July 30, donated items can be dropped off at Police Department headquarters, 129 Valor Blvd.
