Repaving continues in neighborhoods

Repaving continues in neighborhoods

Freshly paved roads not only add to the aesthetics of a neighborhood, smoother streets also improve ride quality, reduce noise, cause less wear and tear on vehicles and help to reduce accidents. It’s the ultimate win-win situation for drivers and residents. The city is currently undergoing an ambitious maintenance program to improve neighborhood streets. Since last year, nearly 42 lane miles of city-owned roads have been improved. Roads in the Cedar Highlands subdivision and 3rd Street from Jimmy Ann Drive to Berkshire Road and all of the roads in between 3rd and 5th streets were recently completed.

Next week, crews will repave streets in the area between Orange and Bellevue avenues and Ridgewood Avenue and South Beach Street. Specific streets include:

  • Gardiner Court
  • Live Oak Avenue
  • Loomis Avenue
  • Palm Place

It will take about a week to complete, weather dependent. There will be temporary lane/road closure during paving operations.
