Traffic information for this weekend's races at the speedwayThis weekend, the Daytona International Speedway is hosting the final race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series regular season before heading into the playoffs.
Gentlemen will start their engines for the featured race, the 160-lap Coke Zero Sugar 400, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. There is also a race, the Wawa 250 Powered by Coca-Cola, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.
To prepare for additional visitors to our community, here are some traffic tips for locals not heading to the track:
- If you are traveling in the late afternoon/early evening on Friday and Saturday, Nova Road, Ridgewood Avenue and Atlantic Avenue are better options than Clyde Morris or Williamson boulevards for north-south commutes. For traveling east and west, Beville Road and LPGA Boulevard are your best options instead of International Speedway Boulevard.
- Beachgoers should avoid International Speedway Boulevard and use Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach or Dunlawton Avenue in Port Orange.
For more information about traffic patterns, please visit the Police Department’s website.
