Enjoy fireworks July 4th in Daytona Beach

Enjoy fireworks on Independence Day in Daytona Beach

This year, leave the fireworks to the professionals. Fabulous fireworks will shoot and sparkle in the sky over the Atlantic Ocean in Daytona Beach starting at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 4. Spectators can view the show from the city’s boardwalk behind the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, on the beach or in Breakers Oceanfront Park. The pyrotechnic extravaganza follows a free concert at 7:15 p.m. by the Alter Eagles, an Eagles tribute band, at the Oceanfront Bandshell. VIP concert tickets are available for $15.

Did you know that more than 11,000 people in the U.S. were injured from fireworks in 2021? According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 74% of injuries occurred in the weeks before and after July 4. Below are tips to keep you and your loved ones safe this holiday.

  • Never allow young children to play with fireworks.
  • Always read the instructions.
  • Set up fireworks in a clear, open space.
  • Wear protective eyeglasses and gloves.
  • Light at arm’s length and then stand back.
  • Never attempt to relight a “dud” or defective firework.
  • Never hold a lit firework in your hand.
  • Have a bucket of water or sand or a fire extinguisher ready as a preventive measure.

In addition, consumer-grade fireworks are banned on Volusia County’s beaches, where they not only leave a mess, but they can also frighten nesting sea turtles and cause birds to abandon their nests.
