Garbage collection schedule for Christmas week

Merry Christmas! There won't be garbage collection on Monday, Dec. 25. Monday's collection will be moved to Tuesday, and Tuesday's collection will be Wednesday. Wednesday's regular yard waste collection will be Saturday, Dec. 30. There are no changes for collection on Thursday and Friday. Live trees can be placed curbside for pick up Saturday, Dec. 30. All decorations should be removed.

Drivers who get pulled over in Daytona Beach for a broken or burned-out headlight, taillight, brake light or turn signal can receive a voucher worth up to $250 to cover repairs instead of getting a ticket.

A bold mural was hand-painted at Joe Harris Park, 315 Pearl Street. The mural was the creation of artist Tiff Urquhart, who previously painted vibrant murals at the Dickerson Rec Complex and the Daytona Beach Pier.
