Aug 20, 2025Today’s City Manager’s Update newsletter features the following topics: Building Hope: Home Reconstruction Program Four Daytona Beach property owners will soon move into brand-new homes through the city’s home rehab/reconstruction program. The initiative, funded with federal and state housing dollars, helps very low to moderate-income homeowners replace unsafe homes with safe, modern residences. Construction is underway at 622 Marion Street, with additional projects at North Keech, Garden and Madison streets. Welcome to the city’s team Introducing new City Auditor Abinet Y. Belachew and Sustainability and Resiliency Officer James Lloyd Capital Projects Update: - Main Street Arch: New sign installed, with completion expected by the end of the month.
- Boardwalk Beach Access: Progress continues on ADA ramps and access stairs, with several milestones achieved.
- Sunnyland Press Box Tower: Structural work is complete; interior and exterior finishes are now underway.
- Cherry Cultural & Educational Center: A new generator has been installed, with testing scheduled for mid-September.
