In response to the many inquiries on joining the Daytona Beach Fire Department, the information below will assist in answering most questions regarding employment. 

Firefighter EMT/Paramedic - (Dual and Single Cert Applicants may apply. See details below)


Dual Cert Applicants:

  • Must have a State of Florida Firefighter Certification
  • Must have a State of Florida EMT/Paramedic Certification
  • Possess a current BLS for Healthcare Provider card (CPR)
  • Possess a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support card (ACLS)(Paramedic Applicants)
  • Possess a current Pediatric Advanced Life Support card (PALS)(Paramedic Applicants)
  • Provide a valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license
  • Possess an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course certification (EVOC ), if applicable
  • Must complete Personal History Questionnaire
  • Must complete Paramedic Requirement

Single Cert Applicants:

  • Applicants must have one certification (Fire, EMT, or Paramedic) and scheduled to graduate Fire or EMT this semester. 
  • Must have a State of Florida Firefighter Certification, if applicable
  • Must have a State of Florida EMT/Paramedic Certification, if applicable 
  • Possess a current BLS for Healthcare Provider card (CPR)
  • Provide a valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license
  • Possess an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course certification (EVOC ), if applicable
  • Must complete Personal History Questionnaire
  • Must complete Paramedic Requirement
