[ARCHIVED] Have a safe and happy Fourth of July

July 4 Parade and Ceremony 2025 Decorative Image

The City of Daytona Beach invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with a full lineup of patriotic festivities, including a veterans ceremony, Main Street parade, oceanfront concerts and spectacular fireworks displays.

Veterans’ Ceremony – 9 a.m., Friday, July 4
A special ceremony honoring veterans and first responders will take place 9 a.m. by the Clock Tower on the Boardwalk, near the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort (100 N. Atlantic Ave.).

Hosted by City Commissioner Stacy Cantu and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 316, this year’s ceremony will include a tribute to local U.S. Navy veteran Harold Holloway (1947–2023), who served two tours in Vietnam and dedicated his retirement to advocating for fellow veterans. Holloway was actively involved with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 84 in Holly Hill, the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1048 in Port Orange and the VFW Post 8696 in Palm Coast.

Independence Day Parade – 10 a.m., Friday, July 4
Immediately following the ceremony, the annual Independence Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. along Main Street.
Presented by the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 316, and the Military Officers Association of America, the parade will feature nearly 30 participants, including local veterans’ organizations, military units and representatives from the Daytona Beach police and fire departments.

The parade route starts at Atlantic Avenue and travels west to the base of the Main Street Bridge. Spectators are encouraged to line Main Street early for the best views. Free public parking is available until noon in surface lots near the Ocean Center.

Traffic Advisory

  • Main Street, from Beach Street to Atlantic Avenue, will be closed to vehicles beginning at 10 a.m.
  • Halifax Avenue, Peninsula Drive and Atlantic Avenue will remain open until the parade reaches those intersections; traffic will then be temporarily stopped to allow the parade to pass.
  • Motorists should plan for delays in the surrounding area.

Oceanfront Concert & Fireworks – Friday, July 4
Enjoy a free evening concert at the Daytona Beach Oceanfront Bandshell featuring the popular Eagles tribute band, Alter Eagles, beginning at 7:15 p.m.

VIP tickets are available for $15 and include a reserved seat and chair.  A fireworks extravaganza over the Atlantic Ocean will follow the concert at 9:45 p.m.

Encore Concert & Fireworks – Saturday, July 5
Festivities continue on Friday, July 5, with another evening concert at the Bandshell featuring Southern Cross and Bad Moon Rising, tribute bands celebrating the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

The concert begins at 7:15 p.m. and will be followed by a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.
