Residents can safely dispose of common, yet potentially hazardous, household items at the city’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Public Works facility, 950 Bellevue Ave. This free event provides residents with a convenient and safe way to discard materials that should not be placed in regular trash or recycling bins. Proof of Daytona Beach residency is required.
Items accepted include:
- Fertilizers
- Solvents
- Lithium batteries
- Anti-freeze
- Light bulbs
- Household chemicals
- Paint and thinners
- Propane tanks
- Pesticides
- Pool chemicals
Items not accepted:
- Fuel
- Gas cans
- Tires
- Lawn equipment (such as mowers, trimmers or gas-powered tools)
- Commercial hazardous waste
There is no charge to drop off accepted items. By properly disposing of hazardous materials, you’re helping to keep Daytona Beach clean and protect our environment.
