Daisy Stocking Park
Address
555 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd.
Description
Renovations to historic Daisy Stocking Park are completed. New pavilions, picnic tables and children’s playground equipment were part of the $2.6 million plan. Other improvements in the four-acre park include new lighting, gateway entrance, landscaping, sidewalks and pathways to provide connectivity to Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard. Signage honoring Daisy Hardy Stocking’s contributions to the community were created and are prominently displayed within the park. Two grants were obtained to help finance the park’s improvements - $1 million from the African-American Cultural and Historical Grant and $330,000 from Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities District.
Daisy Stocking Park is named after one of Daytona Beach's most prominent humanitarians and medical practitioners, Daisy Hardy Stocking. This community park offers an amphitheater and benches with parking available.
